Somatic Breathwork Journey

Dive into a transformative breathwork journey that takes you beyond the mind and into your body’s energetic network. This practice uses 35–40 minutes of active, rhythmic breathing paired with music to release stuck energy, followed by a 15-minute integration in stillness. Somatic Breathwork supports emotional catharsis, heightened awareness, and deep embodiment, often leading to profound insights or a blissful sense of oneness.

what:

Somatic Breathwork is a transformative embodiment experience resulting in an altered form of consciousness in which you choose how deep you go. It takes you out of your thinking mind and into your body’s electrical network. It lets you release unneeded or stuck energy within this network caused by repeating thoughts, feelings, and old narratives by discharging it out through your body.

Somatic Breathwork employs active, sustained breathwork (around 35 – 40 minutes) coupled with rhythmic music to produce a cathartic emotional release, followed by a 15 minute integration time of relaxed stillness.

This form of breathwork allows more oxygen into the lungs, and thus blood, and increases energy in the body. Through this technique, the blood becomes more alkaline. The increase of energy in the body and the change in blood chemistry activates the body and nervous system and heightens awareness. This can increase the ability to access repressed memories, emotions, and experiences that rise to the surface of awareness, as a cathartic experience that moves towards integration. This can show up as spontaneous crying, sounds, shaking, or any spontaneous movement; it’s also possible that there are no outward expressions, but the inner experience is similarly intense. Equally, this activation can be a beautiful, transcendental experience where you feel love and bliss or a sense of oneness. Regardless, there is ample time following the active breathing to rest, integrate, process, journal and/or sketch.

considerations

★ Going into this practice it is important to be open to whatever arises. Every person’s experience is unique and can be different every session.
★ Trust that whatever shows up for you is all in perfect timing.
★ During the active breathing you might experience various body sensations such as feelings of hot/cold, tingling, tetany (tight tension in limbs), dissociation, or heavy limbs.
★ An assistant and I will offer hands-on assists to encourage release of any held tension, tightness or stuck energy.
★ You might wish to have various props to support your body’s comfort: including yoga mats, bolsters, blankets and eye pillows. (Some are provided at the venue.)
★ You may wish to bring a journal to write down any insights you had during your journey.
★ Wear comfortable clothing – we will be lying down for most of the time.
★ Drink plenty of water leading up to it, and afterwards.
★ I highly recommend taking some time after the experience to engage in quiet reflection to better integrate the experience.
