somatic sex education

the intention

to nourish, deepen and awaken the sensual self

The word somatic comes from the greek word somatikos, meaning “concerning the body”, or soma, which means “the living body in its wholeness”. As a somatic sex educator & sexological bodyworker, I aim to connect people back to their body and their essential nature as a sensual being designed for pleasure and connection. To do this, I offer a wide variety of body-based learning, including coaching in breath, movement, body awareness, boundary-setting, communication, anatomy, sensate focus, massage, erotic trance, and other body-based teachings about sex. I offer teachings to both individuals and couples in sensual and sexual bodywork sessions aimed at helping people discover their capacity for joy, intimacy and pleasure. As my students open to their deepest pleasures, there is space to process shame, fear, and grief if it arises. My approach is one of playfulness and deep integrity towards each persons’ unique journey.

about the practice

  • Somatic sex education sessions assist students in developing presence within their body, opening to their interior awareness, and learning how the body can feel more alive. I use a variety of instructive modalities including breathwork, boundary setting and consent exercises, and trauma-informed touch for scar tissue palpitation, pelvic floor release, genital dearmouring and anatomy mapping for sensitivity and pleasure.
  • I offer a variety of educational modalities including hands-on bodywork, coaching and consultation.
  • These sessions are not clinical; rather it’s about education. Referrals are provided for physical and mental health practitioners.
  • Somatic sex education is not a sexual service and practitioners do not act as surrogate partners. We remain clothed and the touching in our sessions is ALWAYS one-directional: from practitioner to client. Students who want to learn interpersonal skills are welcome to bring their partners.
